The Official Version:

I’m Ariel Lawhon, a critically acclaimed, New York Times bestselling author of historical fiction. My novels include: THE WIFE THE MAID AND THE MISTRESS; FLIGHT OF DREAMS; I WAS ANASTASIA; CODE NAME HÉLÈNE; THE FROZEN RIVER (coming November 2023); and WHEN WE HAD WINGS (co-written with Kristina McMorris and Susan Meissner). My books have been translated into numerous languages and have been Library Reads, One Book One County, Indie Next, Costco, Amazon Spotlight, and Book of the Month Club selections. I live in the rolling hills outside Nashville, Tennessee, with my husband and four sons. I split my time between the grocery store and the baseball field.

The Unofficial Version:

I was raised by hippies in nowhere New Mexico, left home at sixteen, and married young (best decision of my life). My husband and I had four boys in five years (second best decision) which means there is an entire decade of my life that I don’t remember because the only thing I did was keep people alive. Those boys are all huge baseball players now and let’s be honest, my house smells like ball sack. (Bat bags, people, get your mind out of the gutter).
